Day 29

Woke up super early again and got the kids ready and went to my mom's really early.  We had a nice, relaxing day while she was at work.  When she got home in the afternoon we went to a store that had my current favorite juices on sale, Kern's.  They had so many more flavors than Walmart and I was so excited.  Pineapple Orange Passionfruit, Pineapple Banana, Strawberry and so many more.  They are so good.  Then we took the kids to get their hair cut.  Again I felt weird being in the salon.  Didn't bring my scarf with me this time so they got to see all my fun going on with my face.  After my mom took me to Baskin Robbins and I got a banana split.  I really, really want to eat a banana and I was hoping if I mashed it enough I would be able to.  The ice cream and different syrups were unbelieabley good.  After I ate most of the ice cream I mashed the bananas up super good and was able to eat some of them with the rest of the melted ice cream but since I couldn't chew I didn't get to taste the bananas and it wasn't what I was hoping it would be.

My stitches are officially falling out.  I thought I might have had some fall out over the past few days but I wasn't sure.  Today I totally got some on my toothbrush when I was brushing my teeth.  There was at least 6 in the sink by the time I was done.  Then I went back to the front room and I felt like something was stuck on the roof of my mouth.  I found a couple more and it seemed to be fine.  They didn't hurt to come out but I really hope I don't swallow them.  Gross.  When I lift my upper lip up to look at the 2 stitches I saw before I could see they were tied to each other and their are a couple more sticking out now in the same spot.  Fun stuff.

Ichy feeling in my lower lip and chin today again.  Lots more today.  Again fell asleep super early when I got home and had a great night's sleep.

  1. Jenn I can totally relate to how you're feeling about having to wait 5 xtra days. Unless you've gone thru this, people have no idea how hard it is to live like this. I will be getting my splint off on the 4th of Jan. and can hardly wait!! Of course I will have to relearn how to chew with the new positions of mt mouth(which I'm sure will be another adventure)
    Great blog btw.

  2. Thank you so much for this blog - it's really helpful. I'm getting Le Fort I (upper jaw only) and just got my lower braces a month ago so I'm a ways away, but still want to know what I'm in for!

Please keep us updated on your progress. You look fantastic by the way.

  3. sooo lucky Stephanie!! I will totally be thinking of you Wed. Please let me know how it is getting your splint off. I'm super nervous because I have so much extra metal in my mouth that has to come out with my splint. Thanks for liking my blog. :) It means a lot to me.

  5. Jenn, I'll let you know how the splint removal goes. I don't go back to the orthodontist until the following tuesday so i wont have any elastics on which i'm sure will feel funny or sore.I'm not sure which one i want more lol. I've really appreciated reading your posts since my surgeon has been a little slim on the details of what to expect.(Maybe he thought i'd cancel if he told me everything)
Hang in there and continue to just take one day at a time,

  6. Stephenie, I'm so glad you enjoy reading my posts. It really helps that we are going through this together. I started this blog hoping my experience might help someone that was going through this and I'm so happy you like all my fun details. :) I got lots of info from jawsurgeryblog.com but I still wanted more so I decided to write my own hoping I could get as much of it as I could during my healing process. Thanks again for your nice words and I'm so glad you got your splint off.
